I've always liked the idea of a living in a cliff face. You get a solid foundation, good insulation, and a nice view. Just like a masked avenger based in a cave behind a waterfall, you hide inside the landscape, invisible, watching but unwatched.
(Of course I gloss over the fact that you have to climb up or down into your aerie, sweating and swinging on a rope ladder with 30 lbs. of groceries in your backpack, fully exposed to the elements and passing birds of prey...)
Here I put a massive development inside the cliff by combining part of Bruegel the Elder's Tower of Babel (the same one used here) with part of one of my paintings.
